In order for a student to compete in the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee on March 7th, 2026 a student must advance through their school, district and county spelling bees.

The number of spellers advancing from each County is directly correlated to the number of schools registered for the spelling bee within that county. Each County’s advancement process varies. Please keep in touch with your County Coordinator as there may be school and district level competition prior to the County Bee. 

1-50 schools registered – 1 speller
51-100 schools registered – 2 spellers
101-150 schools registered – 3 spellers
151 or more schools registered – 4 spellers

* Each County operates based on the total number of schools registered in the program for their region.
